Program

Sandy bays

The peace of this wonderful place is guarded by two rocks that look like siblings: the Big Bell Tower and the Small Bell Tower. These pyramidal rocks picturesquely frame a clean sandy beach, shaped like a semicircle, 750 m long, 15 to 20 m wide.

Sagan-zaba Cliff

The cliff is known for its large number of rock paintings. According to academician A.P. Okladnikov, "the petroglyphs of Sagan-Zaba are a true pearl of the ancient culture and art of the peoples of Eastern Siberia. In terms of composition, style of writing and variety of subjects, they are the most complex of all known rock paintings in the entire area from the Urals to the Pacific Ocean."

Chivyrkuisky Bay

Long and narrow, it juts out into the land for 25 kilometers. Its shores are cut by closed bays no more than 5 meters deep. Thanks to this, in summer the water warms up to +23 C. The shores are sandy. The bay is located in a protected area, so only quiet rest, spinning fishing, berry and mushroom picking are allowed here.

Ushkany Islands

This is a kind of small mysterious archipelago located in the middle part of the mighty Baikal. And all because it is difficult to get here, and few people have been here. Considering the location of the islands, this amazing natural monument is located on the territory of the National Transbaikal Park and includes four islands: Bolshoy Ushkany Island and Malye Ushkany Islands, which have quite simple names - Krugly, Tonkiy and Dolgiy.

Davsha

"Davshe" in Evenki means "meadows", "wide open area". Until the end of the eighties of the twentieth century, the central estate of the Barguzinsky State Reserve was located here. The ecosystems of the reserve have never been subject to anthropogenic impact. In the village of Davsha there is a nature museum and a hot spring.

Lake Frolikha

One of the most protected places on northern Baikal. This mountain lake was formed during the Ice Age, and little has changed since then: it is still surrounded by mountains and virgin taiga. The lake is home to a rare arctic fish called davatchan – a greeting from the Ice Age. How the arctic char got into the lake is one of Baikal’s mysteries.

Cape Kostelnikovsky

Mys Kotelnikovsky is known, first of all, for its hot springs. The hottest spring on Baikal (+81 C) flows here. The water has to be mixed with Baikal water to be fed into the pool. Nearby there are wonderful places for hiking, horse riding and cycling, as well as a trail to the Baikal peak Mount Chersky and the Kurkula River, where the rare dwarf grayling lives.

Zavorotnaya Bay

Zavorotnaya Bay is located in the northern part of Baikal on the western coast. It was formed as a result of the merger of the coastal lake with Baikal. A narrow rocky spit, 800 m long, in the form of a horn, separates Zavorotnaya Bay from Baikal. Today, it is an ideal shelter for ships from the treacherous Baikal winds. The world's first deposit of microquartzite, a highly durable abrasive material for grinding metal, was discovered here, but mining has not been carried out here for more than 20 years.

Olkhon Island

The historical and sacred center of Baikal. It is also the oldest center of civilization, famous for its mysterious caves, rock paintings, ancient legends and historical traditions. In summer, there are excellent opportunities for walking and cycling around the island, and in winter you can walk and drive right on the ice!

Ogoy Island

There is a small uninhabited island in the Maloye More Strait of Lake Baikal, and it is called Ogoy. The word "Ogoy" comes from the Buryat word "Ukhaguy", which means "waterless". The length of the island is 2.9 km, and the width is 0.6 km. It is the largest island in the strait between Olkhon and the mainland.

Maloe More Strait

A shallow strait separated from the larger Baikal by Olkhon Island. It offers excellent beach recreation: the water in the numerous sandy bays warms up to a comfortable temperature, and the Maloe More tan lasts for several months. Maloe More is the best travel option for lovers of beautiful landscapes, for those who like to sit by the fire, admire the scenery from the heights of steep banks, go on exciting excursions with visits to amazing and even anomalous mysterious places.
